Two people died on Friday in Murcia and Barcelona and a third one is in serious condition due to a heat stroke, on a day when the high temperatures that hit Spain have risen widely.
The Murcia health department today announced the death of a 78-year-old man by a heat stroke while working on his farm after the death of a 48-year-old worker who died on Tuesday also due to high temperatures. In the same region, a 55-year-old man was hospitalized in a very serious condition after suffering heat stroke and heatstroke.
In Barcelona, ​​a middle-aged man and undocumented people also died of a heat stroke, after being located in the middle of the street and with blood on his mouth, announced the Civil Protection of the Catalan Autonomous Government.

Visitors to Spain and Portugal this weekend have been warned to take care in the sun after forecasters anticipated temperatures would pass 40C.

Aemet, the Spanish weather agency, issued an “extreme risk” warning for both Badajoz and Caceres in the Extremadura region on Friday, and numerous “important risk” alerts for the majority of southern Spain. Much of the country will experience temperatures in the high 30s, with Madrid, Seville and Toledo expected to reach 40C. Corboda, in Andalusia, will be one of the hottest cities on the Continent, with highs of 44C forecast.

The Foreign Office has issued warnings for Portugal and Spain, stating that Portuguese and Spanish authorities “are forecasting a sharp increase in temperatures over the next week”.

It advises: “Please take care in the sun. High temperatures also carry an increased risk of forest fires; check on the outbreak of fires with the local civil protection authority and report any you may see immediately to the emergency services on 112.”
