Météo France has placed Corsica in orange vigil for storms, rains and floods, all day Sunday and late evening on Saturday, the first significant rainfall being expected in the night.
The two island departments are concerned by this "intense rainy stormy event requiring special monitoring because of its intensity and duration," said Météo France in a statement, while first light showers were already noted on the east from the island.
The situation must worsen in the second half of the night, first in the south of Corsica, then at the end of the night and during the day "on the whole of the eastern facade mainly" , specify the meteorologists.

The UK will be hit by two separate storms this week, with Storm Adrian and Hurricane Oscar set to bring heavy rain and strong winds.
Storm Adrian is arriving from the south east after battering Europe.
It has killed at least 11 people in Italy, flooding much of Venice, and brought as much as 40cm of snowfall to south-central France.
Its effects in the UK will be far less severe. It is set to bring wet, windy weather to the south east from Wednesday night, spreading to central and eastern England on Thursday.

The Met Office is warning that rainfall from Storm Adrian will lash England this morning after causing chaos with devastating floods in Italy and incredible rainfall in the Alps.

East Anglia and Kent are expected to be hit the hardest by Storm Adrian, but coastal areas in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire could also be affected today.

But unfortunately the wind and rain won't end there as Hurricane Oscar's 105mph winds rage across the Atlantic towards Britain on Friday.

Met Office meteorologist Alex Burkill said: "Adrain's brought a lot of unsettled weather to Europe like intense thunderstorms, but from our point of view it's bringing a bit of rain to Eastern parts of England.

"In the UK, we've got some rain affecting the Eastern and South Eastern parts of England this morning and through today."
