The mayor of Natonin in Mt. Province on Sunday said death toll reached 17, as another body was pulled out from the landslide area, which hit a Department of Public Works and Highways building in Brgy. Banawel on Tuesday.
More than 30 people were buried under the landslide, the PDRRMO said.
The search, rescue and retrieval operations now go as far as Sifu River in the neighboring town, Paracelis.

Three people were killed, while more than 20 others were trapped inside the second district engineering office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Natonin town, Mountain Province, following a landslide on Tuesday afternoon.

The Office of Civil Defense in the Cordillera Autonomous Region confirmed the incident.

As of 11 p.m., rescue teams were unable to reach the area due to several landslides along roads, according to the police and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Rescue and retrieval operations were earlier halted because of heavy rains and flooding in the area.
