A powerful storm hammered Spain’s Canary Islands off the coast of West Africa on Saturday, and its remnants pushed 40-foot waves ashore overnight Saturday and into Sunday, November 18.
El Dia reported that 39 people were evacuated from Garachico on Tenerife’s north coast on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, waves crashed into the apartment buildings on the coast of Mesa del Mar, ripping balconies from some of the lower floors.

Depression "Carlos" hit Flores island, Azores (Portugal) this weekend.

IPMA says depression Carlos should position himself on fifth northeast about the Azores archipelago, which moves east-southeast and causes "an increase in wind intensity and seasanering throughout the region."

Extremely severe wind gust have been observed, peaks up to 122 km/h on the coast and up to 151 km/h on top of island, wave highs up to 13 meters.
