A household gas explosion occurred in Russian northwestern city of Vologda, which led to one dead and seven injured, local emergency service said.
A household gas explosion occurred in an apartment building in Russia's city of Vologda.
The blast occurred on the fifth floor of the fifth entry of the building, the emergency services reported.
One died and seven more were injured, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS).
The emergency services said that two people are in critical condition after the incident, while the rest of them were lightly injured.
Later the Investigative Committee of Russia started investigative activities in respect of the explosion occurred at Karl Marx Street in Vologda, according to the statement made by the lieutenant colonel of justice Natalya Letenkova, the investigation authority's representative.
