Mumbai building collapse

Three people died and eight were injured on Sunday after an under-construction building near Azad Maidan in Goregaon, Mumbai collapsed.

The structure was being built at Motilal Nagar, near Azad Maidan and collapsed when the slabs of the ground and two upper floors gave way.

A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team along with Mumbai fire brigade was immediately rushed to the spot.

The whole structure had collapsed. Several people got trapped in the incident.

People tried to rescue some people, but they were badly trapped and without machinery and experts, they could not be removed.

A senior NDRF officer said, "We were informed by the cops. As we reached the spot, we first secured the location and tried to figure out if the people trapped were still alive. With the help of dogs, we spotted two people and rescued them. The whole structure came down completely."
